In which doppelgangers abound. Sadly, Walter Bishop is not among them.

One day I shall stop with the Fringe allusions, but it is not this day. With doppelgangers the theme of the hour, how could I? Would like a crossover now, please. Though the thought also illustrates this: what Sherlock and Morland seem to have so far seems to be a very standard US media dysfunctional father-son relationship: Dad didn't have enough time, was remote, grown up son resents and is cold now. Meanwhile, Walter and Peter Bishop on Fringe had something infinitely more screwed up, complicated and heartbreaking which was key to the show, and offered John Noble the role of a life time. I do hope things will get more complicated with the Holmes' in the interest of storytelling, not that I don't enjoy John Noble doing Standard Remote Dad Now Repenting, because he's awesome and does a great job echoing JLM's body language, but I know he's capable of so much more, so.

Also: still no Mycroft reference. This is silly, show. I don't ask for a discussion of the guy. But for example: when Sherlock said "you need a kidney?", you could have let him say "you need kidney and Mycroft is not available?", and that would have been that. I don't want Mycroft back or a lengthy topic of conversation, just a nod to the fact he existed two years ago.

BTW: the kidney line tells me Sherlock watched Lost, which, of course he did. I met he posted theories about the Smoke Monster and the island throughout its run.

Case of the week: was very case-of-the-week-y, and given we established early on that it was possible to get an alibi via doppelganger, it bemused me that no one suggested Company Guy's "thousands of people saw me at that event" alibi wasn't one, but hey. Also I must admit with one dead body German and his parents mentioned as being on the way, I was expecting said parents to turn up and contribute a clue or something, but no.

In conclusions: frat boys are evil, but then we knew that. At least no pig was molested on this occasion.
