Defenders: all spoilery, hence a :

Two Elektra povs, both somewhere between prose and poetry:

Half Goddess, Half Hell

ultimatum absolute

no comfort for the living (is it to praise the dead) Jessica post season, contemplating losing an almost-friend.

Modern Men: Foggy copes, or not. Has excellent voices for everyone else as well, including Father Lathom and Marci.

Hard Things: Melvin Potter (the guy who created Matt's suit in Daredevil) puts two and two together when his client doesn't come in for repairs, looks for answers and ends up being befriended by the other three Defenders. This one is especially good for not just providing the pov of a minor character but taking that character, fleshing him out and making him and his own life central for the story. Also, what the other three end up doing for Melvin in chapter 2 (which has nothing to do with Matt) is wonderful if you're in the mood for a comfort providing friendship story.

Doctor Who:

Impossible Mercy: set during early s9, in which the Doctor post The Witch's Familiar goes back to Skaro for Missy, and Clara hates it, but never is one to stay passive about something. Good voices for all three characters, and I appreciate that Clara gets to react to what Missy did to her in the above named episode AND to have lingering Danny- and Cybermen related issues from the previous season.

Wynona Earp:

The Treasure in your Eyes: aka one of the rare Wynona/Doc stories without s2 spoilers yours truly, who only watched the first season so far, has found, and a very plausible Wynona voice it has, too.

Thank you for the recs. Particularly the Defenders, and Wynona Earp. Which I'm now hooked on, thank you very much, and trying to figure out how to see S2. It is cheesy in places, but rather fascinating in others...and a bit more innovative in its mythology and metaphors than Supernatural was.

And, the actor playing Doc Holliday is...captivating in the role.

Just wanted to say that Wynona Earp Season 2 is really worth watching! And a real improvement on the 1st.

I think Buffy comparisons are over-used, but it really reminds me of the early seasons of that show--not just in the obvious homages, but in the trickier balance of completely committing to the characters without taking the show itself too seriously.
