Best introduction to a TV series? (meaning movies, pilot episodes and miniseries, not credits)
Serenity, for Firefly. I also loved the Battlestar Galactica miniseries which I have just watched, but definitely Serenity. Those other Jossverse intros aren't half-bad, either.

Most frustrating cliffhanger for a TV series?
If I hadn't watched Farscape in a row - eternal thanks for the CDs, [livejournal.com profile] hmpf! - I probably would have gone with any of theirs. I also was spoiled, alas, for the Alias first season cliffhanger, and for Z'ha'dum on B5. However, back, back in the day, there was "Best of Both Worlds, Pt. 1". Insert wistful nostalgic sigh here. You know, the one where Picard got turned into Locutus of Borg. I don't think it's possible to imagine the emotional impact that had then, because TV plays by different rules now. But back then, stuff like this didn't happen to Star Trek Captains. And everyone, from Patrick Stewart to the guest stars (the actress who played Elizabeth Shelby), was ever so good.

Best resolved sexual tension in a TV series?
I'm assuming here that "best" means for me, not for the characters in question, and shall go with Buffy/Spike in Smashed. It was at absolutely the wrong point for her and for him, but my, that was definitely the angriest, hottest onscreen consumation of UST I recall.

If we're talking about which relationship is best after turning from UST to RST, for the characters involved as well as for the audience, I'm going with Odo/Kira on DS9. I have issues with the way it was resolved, or rather, the fact it did in that particular season and conveniently ignored everything Odo had done in the occupation arc. But I loved the relationship in season 7. They really brought out the best in each other then, and we got the big poignant pay off at the end.

Honorary mention: "You'd be surprised what I can do in a pair of size eight boots." I don't exactly 'ship Dax with Worf, but I adore Jadzia (Ezri, too), and the scene where she jumps his clueless bones always makes me smile.

Most heartwrenching character death?
Great Maker. Do you have to ask? Londo and G'Kar in the War Without End flashforward, of course. Especially given that a first time viewer has found out just before that they will have become friends by then, and what state Londo will be in, and a viewer who as watched this scene repeatedly after knowing the entire show has several heartbreaking scenes from The Fall of Centauri Prime and In the Beginning to associate as well.

Following close after: Darla comitting suicide to give birth do Connor. Not just because Darla is my favourite Jossverse character, but because of the impending tragedy of Connor as well. And what a properly mythic scene to end the Darla/Angel relationship with - her hand turning into ash in his...

Honorary mention: Joyce and Buffy herself (in The Gift, not Prophecy Girl), of BtVS. And of course the entire cast of Blake's 7. "Did you betray me?" Guh.

Most upsetting (but not heartwrenching) character death?
Cordelia in The Wish. (Mind you, I'm tempted to add "and Cordelia somewhere in early season 3 of AtS, when the character got lost in the mire that was C/A and Saint Cordy, and never quite recovered except for one episode.) At that point in season 3 of BtVS, Cordy had become one of my favourite characters, but it's more than that. The sadism of Wishverse Xander and Wishverse Willow killing her together in the episode directly after "real" Xander and Willow broke her heart, and Giles being forced to watch, disturbs me to this day. In a good way - The Wish remains one of my favourite BTVS episodes, written by the much bashed and underappreciated Marti Noxon.

Most surprising character death?
Lindsey in Not Fade Away, AtS. Not that he did die - once they brought him back, I hadn't expected him to survive the show - , but that Lorne killed him, on Angel's orders. I was stunned. And mostly upset on Lorne's account.

Best funeral scene/episode in a TV series?
Err, which one to pick from Six Foot Under.... okay, really tough, so I'll go with the beginning and Nate Senior's funeral. Both for Nate (Junior's) outburst and David's retort (calling Nate a hypocrite because who was the one who had to cut open his own father for embalment, etc.).

Otherwise? Forever. Had the tough job of following the magnificent and gut-wrenching Body in season 5 of BtVS and did it with style. Again, one of Marti Noxon's best episodes for the show. Buffy and Dawn in the final ten minutes make me sniffle every time. And I'm not a shipper, but I like the quiet Buffy/Angel conversation earlier on.

Most frustrating character replacement in a TV series?
The switch from Maggie Walsh to Adam as the season 4 (of BTVS) big bad because Lindsey Crouse had become unavailable. Adam just didn't work very well. No fault of George Hertzberg, who was very good in his brief enigmatic and make-up-less scene in Restless.

TV show that would have been much better if all of the characters were fuzzy talking animals?
Now you're making me wonder about Dallas...

TV show that would have been much worse off if all of the characters were fuzzy talking animals?
Methinks The X-Files wouldn't have made it through the first season...

Not that gay
You are Miles O'Brien. You are remarkably sane. How
do you do it?

Also, I got nominated for "Last One Before Closing", the Wesley 'n Lorne story.

In the category "Best Watcher Story". As this one is primarily a Giles site, I don't think I have a chance of winning, but hey, imagine me using my best Londo with the technomages expression and saying "vote for meeeee".*g*

It turns out that I'm Kira Nerys, who I actively dislike. Hmmmmm. That's probably Freudian.

And many, many congrats on the nomination! *hugs*

Congrats on the nomination. I have to say that I didn't notice Lorne ripping off Wesley's bodice (or vice versa) but it was an excellent story.

I knew there were several reason why I love you.*g*

And yup, no bodice ripping done in the Werne (Lorsley?).
