Very busy week, so, in short:

Elementary 6.10. and 6.11.: 6.10 felt blah to me, nothing objectionable, but as with the entire Morland arc in seasons past, I think we've seen this father-son-business so many times before, including now the awkward reconciliation phase. Though it makes sense that it happens after spoilery event. The most interesting thing was the very last scene.

6.11.: case of the week makes me wonder whether unsupervised slush funds are a thing these days, and conclude depressed that they probably are. Also, nice shout-out to ACD Holmes' tobacco monograph! The main interest of the episode, though, lay in the continuation of the previous' episode's punchline. A situation where Morland and Moriarty are set on killing each other is about the most interesting thing to come out of the Morland plotline so far, and I'm glad that a) Sherlock brings up all the casualties a gang war would have instead of viewing this strictly in "newly reconciled father or murderous mastermind I love" terms, and equally glad he doesn't go for the either/or option but figures out a third way to ensure no gang war does happen and neither of them dies. (For now.) (Though I suppose it's possible that he was lying to Morland in the last scene and is really plotting his father's demise together with Moriarty, but I doubt it.)

Otoh, I'm less thrilled they're teasing us with Moriarty again without showing her. Not that I object to a new female character, but show, it's been many a season, and there has to be a way to get Natalie Dormer back guest starring if you do want to to use the character once more. Also, that actress playing the messenger looks somewhat like her - are we supposed to believe this was conscious fannish styling?

Lastly: I'm glad the used Moriarty-the-painter again, because in the episode with the faked pictures I was frustrated Sherlock never brought up that he used to know an expert forger of paintings pretty intimately.

I really liked the Morland-Sherlock stuff in 6.10 because it dealt with mortality, which is not something we've had before. Loved the conversation about Clyde and that he would outlive them both and finding out that Sherlock had made plans for that. And I liked that we got to hear Joan's feelings on Mycroft's death.

Re: 6.11 - you've already seen it? It hasn't aired in the US yet, but I guess it's on iTunes already or something?
