1.) Veal steak with morels in cream sauce and Spätzle (a sort of pasta) (Kalbssteak mit Rahmmorcheln und Spätzle)
Alas, those are not Spätzle in the picture, but to give you an idea:

Spätzle are these:
In combination with a tender veal and morel cream sauce, it's absolutely delicious, and I melt when I eat it.
A recipe for people who like to cook.
2) "Forelle Müllerin" or Trout a la meunière
Aka my favourite fish dish. One benefit of living near the Alps with lots of mountain streams is that there's no shortage of fresh trout. And my favourite way to prepare it results in this:

It usually gets served with boiled potatoes, and I have salt and pepper ready for those, but the trout doesn't need it.
A recipy for the cooking minded
3.) Flädle Suppe, or: German Pancake soup
Very good to eat in winter, which is why they serve it at most of the little skiing bistros, the "Almen" - it fulflls the double function of warming you and making you feel you've eaten a lot when you really haven't.
A recipe in English for a change
4.) Corn salad with grilled oyster mushrooms, aka Feldsalat mit gebratenen Austernpilzen
The perfect summer dish. Doesn't make you feel heavy, and is delicious. It tastes well with other grilled mushrooms, too, but this is my favourite combination.
Of course, there is a recipe
5.) Nürnberger Bratwürste mit Sauerkraut (Nuremberg Sausages with Sauerkraut)
Because I have to fulfill at least one cliché about Germans. Also I am from Franconia, and Bratwürste taste better in our province than anywhere else. The Nuremberg ones are the smallest edition available. You usually get six aat minimum when you order them at a restaurant. Sauerkraut needs their very spicy taste as a contrast, and vice versa. Sometimes you get mashed potatoes as well, but I'm fine with just the Sauerkraut.
A recipe for the Bratwurst curious!
