Chocolate Box Recs

I'm a bid under the weather right now, but have some Chocolate Box Ficathon tales I very much enjoyed:


15th Century History:

Made Glorious Summer: terse and beautiful take on the complex brotherly relationship between Edward IV and (future) Richard III.



Star Trek: Discovery:

Shelter in the Storm: in which Michael and Saru support each other, and Michael's Vulcan background comes in really handy. Season 4 spoilers, but if you've watched it, a must read!


Greek Mythology:

Cast the net for a royal Haul: How Clytemnestra and Aegistus teamed up. Intense take on one of the underexplored relationships from the House of Atreus.


Spider-man (MCU):

Five Encounters in New York City: in which Peter Parker encounters all the Defenders and the Punisher. Not at the same time. Set pre- Infinity War, so no spoilers beyond that.


Plans: this one, otoh, is post "No Way Home", and has Spider-man (in dire need of some friendly company) hang out with Daredevil on Valentine's Day.

I don't even really like MCU Spiderman /o\ but that fic was fantastic. (And that Peter felt much more Peter-ish to me.)

Well, we're in a bit similar situations in that the Ommicron variant got me and I'm thus quaranteened (and sniffling and coughing, but so far it's just the type of heavy cold I used to get after the Frankfurt Book Fair in pre pandemic times), but at least I don't have to deal with an operation at the same time, so I feel I should cheer you up, rather. :)

Oh, my Corona experience was mercifully short, I could get out of quarantine after 7 days and it manifested as much less severely than feared. The stitches and the OP aftermath are still my main concern.

Doesn’t mean being under the weather, shored up with Omikron is nothing, so you have my heartfelt commiseration. ((Hugs))

Sleeping a lot is king, I felt. And no shortage of house remedies and nose spray… get well soon!
