Things I'll write more extensively about when I find the time that happened in recent days:

1) No Angel season 5, second part, because evil German marketing doesn't unhand it.

2) But I'm rewatching season 3 of Xena. Xena was a show I wasn't in love with, just fond of, and hence let go without bitterness when the quality loss became annoying, but the third season had a wonderful epic quality and some episodes that can compete with the heavies of my beloved shows.

3) Also, I watched Kingdom of Heaven, which was an unfortunate coincidence. Because Xena never even pretended to be historically or mythologically accurate and had more passion and drive and better acting, by and large. At least with the main characters.

4) Otoh, Kingdom had some indívidual scenes I liked quite a lot, so it wasn't a total loss.

5) I have my Revenge of the Sith ticket for May 18th.

6) And I'm spending Pentecost with my parents, which makes for very irregular email access.

7) [livejournal.com profile] karabair called my muses over at [livejournal.com profile] theatrical_muse "kissing bandits". Don't blame them. They don't hit on people (or get hit upon), they're just written that way.

8) It's torture to know that there was a Sloane-centric episode and I have to wait to see it and might accidentally spoil myself. Dear friends list, be discreet until Monday which is when I'll hopefully be back in Munich and have the latest episode. Otherwise, Tuesday.

Ah, Xena... I must rewatch it too *nostalgic* mostly 1-4th seasons... there were so touching episodes...

There definitely were. And I liked rewatching them much better than certain new films...

In my rewatching of Xena, I also noticed that the creative peak of the series really was the 3rd season. But I would suggest also sticking around for the fourth. I hadn't realized, till I rewatched it, how strong it actually was. The fifth and sixth are very uneven, despite some flashes of brilliance here and there (for example, one of my all-time favorite eps, When Fates Collide is from late S6), but the show was still (almost) on the top of its game at this point.

I'll think about the fourth season - I do recall some good eps, but wasn't that where the Indian stuff started?

Meanwhile, I just saw The Debt. Which remains awesome in every aspect...

I like fourth season, and I'd have liked it to end there, even though there continued to be occasional good episodes in fifth and sixth. After all, Ides was the only episode when they were both dead at the same time... And yeah, there's the Indian stuff, but Alti made it in there. Fourth season has Alti!

But The Debt. Mm. Yes.

True, but not everyone is like us a devoted B7 fan who thinks this is a good way to end the show.*g*

Alti I wasn't especially impressed by, but maybe it was the dubbing and I'll change my mind about her. As villainesses go, Callisto was more interesting, and as mature women go, Lao Ma all the way.

They dubbed Alti? This is a very shocking idea...

They dub everyone. You can buy or rent the original versions on video or now DVD, of course, and in big cities there are presentations of movies in the original language, but everything on tv is dubbed, i.e. all tv shows, and of course all the movies.

Sweden's much more civilised. It was all English, or an American approximation of the same, with subtitles.

Actually, I don't have to have everyone dead at the end. My own choice for the final episode of Xena would have been the above-mentioned When Fates Collide, in which Gabrielle destroys the world after Xena's death, but that just happens to reset the world to default.

Yes, by Monday you should definitely have Alias!

Oh, and Kingdom of HeavenS as it's called here I will watch on Tuesday. Hope I don't find it too annoying. It's just one of those films I'd really like to see on the big screen, so cinema it is.
And yes, Revenge of the Sith, here we come! We got tickets for 9pm. Hope we'll all enjoy that!

Oh, it should be seen on the big screen, like all Ridley Scott films. It has its moments. But it could have been so much better with a better script and better editing; read [livejournal.com profile] kathyhs review, that captures the pros and cons most fairly.

And of course, I'm ever so gratefull for the Alias supply!
