In which it's very useful to know the numbers of pi by heart. Or eye.

Boy Kavalier growing more obnoxious by the episode was to be expected, as was his blithe planning to sacrifice a human being to host T.Ocellus - which btw confirmed it to me: Boy Kavalier will fnd his own demise via T. Ocellus! -, but the bit with the pi numbers conveyed by sheep hooves and excrement caught me by surprise, and was a stunner. (Good thing T. Ocellus used its time inside the late Shmuel to learn Arab numbers, I guess?) Earlier in the episode, it doesn't take Wendy a minute to see through Boy's less than convincing assurances once she sees how Isaac's remains are treated (aka "there go 6 billions"), and that among other things, this all means she' s still mortal in her synth body, as opposed to what she was told. As subsequent events prove, Wendy has now had it with the human species except for Joe, and that... but first things first.

Her attempt to save the other Hybrids (presumably she did try to find the boys as well as the girls and couldn't ?) is in stark contrast to her releasing the xenomorph as a distraction so she, Joe and Nibs can make their escape. Wendy has seen dead bodies before, but she has killed exactly once (the Maginold xenomorph), in a direct fight and self defense, so the fact she in this episode deliberately first condemns everyone in the lab to death by xenomorph and later the group of soldiers ordered to capture them shows the cumilating effect events have had on her. Or does her synth nature emerge, shedding the remnant of Marcy and providing fodder for the argument that the synth kids are not identical with the dead kids but are new AI simply programmed with their memories? But then we simply don't know how biological Marcy, provided she still had a human (not sick) body, would have responded to the accumulation of experiences and witnessed betrayals and horrors. Whether she still would have kept her compassion. You don't need to be a synth to become a child soldier, after all.

(There is also the intrigiuing possibility that Wendy contrary to appearances isn't controlling the Xenomorph; it's a communication going both ways, after all, only Wendy and the Xenomorph know what it expresses, and for all we know, the Xenomorph is pulling a Morrow in terms of manipulation. But you know, I don't think so. They are too, well, alien for that. Otoh I do think Wendy might find out it is humoring her as long as its goals allign with hers, and will turn against her if they don't anymore.)

Joe through the episode, between passing the graves of the original dead kids and then seeing Wendy call the Xenomorph to kill the soldiers is giving her increasingly horrified looks and might have decided his little sister is dead after all, though his tasering of Nibs after Nibs responded to being attacked by killing one soldier and going after the next in a way that underlines her now inhuman strength is having a similar effect on Wendy - it's her, not Joe, who screams the horrified "what have you done?", underlining she sees the synths now as her people, and humans as expendable. We'll see whether they really have come to the end of the line as siblings in the finale, I guess; I hope not, not least because messy conflicting loyalties are my catnip.

The other trio making its way through Neverland this episode are Slightly, Smee and poor Arthur, with the former two if anything responding to all the fear and trauma by growing more childish, not less so. Arthur goes through the full Kane experience after spending his last time as a conscious man being the most responsible adult parent figure on the island, but alas, it's too late for him and them, he has been implanted with a chestburster. Incidentally, I do suspect that Arthur, Sylvia or Joe are who Boy Kavalier is planning to feed to T.Ocellus. (Though as I said, I'll bet on this backfiring for him, leading to his imminent demise, and I can't wait.)

The other big question of the episode is: hatesex between Morrow and Kirsh when? Bring on the finale.

Also, is Kirsh working with T. Ocellus, and if so, does that communication go both ways?

I'm SO glad it's not just me asking this!
