Personally, I'd prefer 1.), for the same reasons as the blogger, but I'm feeling pretty mellow. I mean, I enjoy the Rebootverse, and of course TOS was my gateway drug, but the Star Trek of my heart are DS9 and TNG, which has the advantage of reducing fannish angst and fretting to no end. If I like it, it'll provide me with some happy fannish hours; if not, I'm not going into fannish despair, because whatever happens in the Rebootverse doesn't affect the original timeline leading to the 24th century, considering they've split, so, no sweat. Meanwhile, how's that Brian Epstein biopic coming along, Mr. Cumberbatch?
