The Ferengi. Okay, in as much as I do have a soft spot for a lot of Ferengi characters, due to DS9, and can still quote some rules of aquisition, and yes, I'm aware of all the ways, Doylist and Watsonian, in which they are terrible. Also, with the exception of the one Ferengi scientist who shows up in TNG only to get murdered, no Trek series other than DS9 had Ferengi who were more than cringe-worthy caricatures, so I should qualify: Ferengi on DS9 only. But still; Jadzia Dax, I'm with you.

Day 24 ~ Favourite quote about the Medici

It's not about them, nor has it been said about the show (yet?), but historical Lorenzo supposedly said when dying "“I wish that death had spared me until your library had been complete" to one of his favourite writers and scholars, which, well: one reason why I'm fond of him.

In terms of show quotes: "Now and then, the truth needs a little help to be told" says Cosimo in 1.04, elegantly justifying many a year of Medici propaganda and scheming. :)
