Five Things: Blake's 7 and Alias
Sep. 11th, 2006 03:50 pmFeeling a bit exhausted, but in a good way, after finishing a) the ficathon story and b) bringing all my muses at
theatrical_muse and
fandom_muses up to date. Now for the last two "Five Things".
Five things Avon would have done if he'd got hold of the Liberator in circumstances when he didn't feel obliged to Blake, for
londonkds
1) He'd have used it to make a run for little to no populated space. Whereupon he'd have gotten dreadfully bored and returned to core planets again, which in turn would have lead to...
2) Becoming a pirate. Of course not many ships were even a close match for the Liberator, so the problem wouldn't have been pulling it off, especially since he would have used Orac to just make the other ship's computer his own. However, it would have soon felt terribly pointless. The Liberator had food, clothes, trinkets, so what on earth would he have needed heists for? So he'd have gotten even more bored. Which might have led to...
3) Selling the Liberator to someone that company running cruise ships. After all, the Liberator is the luxury liner to beat all luxury liners. Avon could have retired to a planet of his own in riches. Except of course Avon had a talent for making his life difficult. And even if there was no Blake, Blake wasn't the only person he obsessed about. So it's more likely that he would have...
4) Used the Liberator and whatever crew he had to avenge Anna by going after Shrinker just the way he did in Rumours of Death. Which would have ended pretty much the same way. Except without a Blake in his life who at this point was still somewhere out there, Avon might have gone bonkers sooner as the result. Or, more intriguingly:
5) He'd have taken up Servalan on her offer. Naturally he'd have expected her to double cross him. But with no Blake in his life and after disillusionment by and loss of Anna, Servalan would have been the one person left he'd still feel passionate about, and at least she'd have been a constant challenge, as an ally even more than as an enemy. So the Liberator would have been the flagship of Servalan's new fleet.
Five ways it could have gone if Arvin had been Irina's assignment, for
luvarvinsloane
1) He's torn between her and Emily whom he meets shortly after, but in the end chooses Emily. Irina gets rid of Emily by killing her and marries a grief-stricken Arvin. Who finds out she killed Emily and why, and responds by handing her over to the authorities and getting a promotion.
2) He chooses Irina - whose Laura persona if designed for Arvin instead of Jack is somewhat different, by the way - and doesn't guess anything about her being KGB; then Irina has an affair with Jack. Being not nearly as trusting and/or nice as Emily and Jack in the "real" universe, Arvin notices. Doesn't say anything. But mixes both their drinks at the next cocktail party with one of these interesting new drugs kids those days were taking. This results in a threesome. Later, Irina tells him he could have told her in advance, she wouldn't have objected.
3) He notices Irina is KGB somewhere around the second year of their marriage. After some intense pondering and brooding, he makes her an offer she can't refuse. After all, she's in an ideal position to become a double agent! He's a really good handler, too, and you can be sure she doesn't miss Cuvee.
4.) Irina's assignment isn't to marry him. Arvin's profile says he won't tell his wife any state secrets anyway. No, Irina's assignment is to make him a double agent. Apparantly, someone noticed he's not entirely satisfied with the CIA and not that loyal, after all. After some hesitation, he accepts. Irina is a great handler as well. Mind you, Arvin thinks the Russians won't win the Cold War, so after a few years and after having made enough money, he and Irina go freelance. And if they haven't killed each other, they live as Evil Overlords happily ever after.
5.) When it becomes apparant that Arvin while having passionate affair with young "Laura" has no intention of marrying her, the KGB tells her to get pregnant. He then marries her; it's what a young ambitious CIA agent does, you know. But she dies in child birth. It's all very tragic. Arvin is such a grief-stricken widower that no one except for Jack wonders whether it's not a bit unusual for a young healthy woman to do that kind of thing in a modern American hospital, and Jack tells himself he's just being paranoid and should be a better friend. Arvin is a devoted father to his and Irina's daughter Mila, too. Why, of course the baby survived. What did you think?

Date: 2006-09-11 02:13 pm (UTC)LOL!
And someone should write fanfic for #5. I wonder what the Alias/Rambaldi-verse would have been if there was Passenger, but no Chosen One.

Date: 2006-09-11 06:17 pm (UTC)Alternatively: it could have been Irina. The Chosen One, I mean.

Date: 2006-09-12 02:43 am (UTC)*LOL* Someone should write a fic on this! It has all the elements one could possibly wish for with these three! Especially Arvin's! The plot speaks for itself!
This would be another excellent fic! Oh, I can see Arvin and Irina as evil overlords living happily ever after... provided they allow each their independence an such! Hehe... Bring on the evil overlord couple! *rubs hands together with smirk*
What an excellent twist! Now I just wish there was more to read!! Hm. I do like the idea of this, with no Sydney or Jack really. Not that I hate them, it's just that this would be an interesting story on Arvin and his daughter. Hm, and would be find out the about Irina How does Irina feel about everything that as happened? *thinking hard* All very interesting..
As you can see, I think all three would be intriguing stories and I hope someone picks at least one of them up!
I loved all 5, they were uniquely different from each other and with out a doubt excellent beyond words! Thank you again for taking the time to do this, I appreciate it very much!
