selenak: (Heroes in Munich by Kathyh)
[personal profile] selenak
...travelling to a small town in the Rhineland at the very moment some much loved actors are in one's usual town of residence, to wit, Munich, it's a comfort to have

a) People who put up glorious picspams

and

b) talented iconmakers like [livejournal.com profile] kathyh who submit to grovelling and create pretty icons using said picspams. Just look at the one I'm using for this entry! The other one she made me is just as pretty, and looks like this:

http://userpic.livejournal.com/65516899/1029872

Isn't she fantastic?

Also, said picspam caused [livejournal.com profile] wee_warrior and self to improvise Heroes crack!fic on the spot...

:D I'm glad you liked the picspam. Your crack!fic is amazing. (I would kill to see Claire *think* something at Peter in Season 2 to get them out of a sticky situation.)

Have you seen my latest? XD

Yes, Just read it, and I'm still giggling, which this early in the morning is insane.*g*

*G* Which one? The World Tour Report? Or the Fashion-RPF picspam?

From: [identity profile] selenak.livejournal.com
The Fashion RPF was the one I had read, but now I've seen the other which makes me psychic as well!

They actually did sing, did you see that? *facepalm* (And of course they'd end up singing that stanza. Of course. *g*)

Lovely icons.

I saw it announced at 12_12_12's journal, but I thought we can't see the nbc stuff directly from their website, being on the wrong side of the Atlantic?

I clicked on the links and was able to see it. I think the episodes are the only things you definitely can't see.

...and now I've seen both excerpts. *facepalm* indeed over the singing.*g* (It still makes us almost psychic...)

It does, and in it's very own way, it's equally embarrassing. :) Oh, Americans.

(Loved all of the guys' reactions to Hayden losing her luggage, from Jack and Milo mocking her to Adrian consoling her. The poor girl!)

They were being guys, obviously. *g* Well, Adrian aside. When he put his arm around her, I went "awwwww", I must admit.

The poor girl!

Having arrived in Egypt twice without my luggage and having to wait for same a day, I sympathized muchly. Then I remembered I arrived in Egypt alone and she had Jack, Milo and Adrian as attendants, and felt less sorry.*g*

Yeah, me too.

I imagine it must be like travelling with three hot older brothers. Teasing obviously included.

They took that video down now. I wonder if it's just a technical glitch or if their singing has something to do with it...

Don't know. Did they take down any of the others? (Team Tokyo and Team Toronto, I mean)

Date: 2007-08-28 04:18 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mimesh.livejournal.com
No, it's the only one. The airport vid is still up as well. If the singing is really the reason, I hope they edit it out and put the video back up.

Maybe I'm insensitive, but I don't see why it should be that much of a drama. It's somewhat of a fauxpas, but it's not like they caused an international incident.

(OT: CUTE icon!)

Btw, were you even able to see the sight seeing video? Lest we sound way more dramatic than it really was.

Date: 2007-08-28 06:50 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mimesh.livejournal.com
Yes, I was able to watch the video before it was taken down but we do sound a bit dramatic, don't we? ;)
I don't think it's a big deal either but perhaps they are very careful not to offend anyone (assuming it really did have something to do with the singing).

From: [identity profile] 12-12-12.livejournal.com
That *is* why they took down the vid, because it's back up (same link as before), but with the singing removed.

Then allow me to marvel at the speed of the internet, because someone must have caught it that short time it was online and pointed out to the webmaster(s) that there might be a problem/ complained, and they reacted at once. By contrast, if politicians blunder, it usually takes them two or three days to a week to come up with a believable retractment.*g*

Seriously now, it's great that the vid is up again, because it really was lovely to see them in the garden of Nymphenburg, and as W. said, the reaction on our part to the singing was *facepalm*, not offense anyway!

From: [identity profile] 12-12-12.livejournal.com
Yeah, it was amazingly quick. I'm glad you guys weren't offended. *G*

That part was just wonderful.

Er...what are they singing, exactly? I must know. *G*

I loved Jack and Milo saying "Hayden!" in unison. LOL.

They're singing the first line of the first stanza of our national anthem. Which in Germany isn't done ever since WWII, because of the text (though the anthem in question predates the Third Reich - it's from the 1870s) - "Deutschland, Deutschland über alles" (meaning "Germany above everything"). Ever since 1945, we sing the third stanza on occasons when the national anthem has to be sung (the third stanza starts with "Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit für das deutsche Vaterland" - meaning "May unity and justice and freedom rule in Germany" and I don't have to explain why that one was adopted post-WWII instead of stanza I. Anyway, only crazy right wingers in Germany sing "Deutschland, Deutschland über alles", which is why it's making me and [livejournal.com profile] wee_warrior go *faceplalm* when Jack and Adrian do it.

*end of historical lecture*

Ah, I see. *facepalm* Sorry, I didn't have any idea what they were singing when I saw the clip. *headdesk*

I guess that might explain why the clip was taken down.

And mind you, we don't think that Jack and Adrian are being crazy right-wingers. Just maybe a little clueless and/or insensitive. :)

Yeah, I'm sure it was just an innocent slip-up. But I can definitely see why it would make people *facepalm*. :)

Ohhh, I'm completely in love with those icons. I have looked for a nice Petrelli trio icon for ages and Jack is a welcome addition, too.

Would you be okay with it if I ask [livejournal.com profile] kathyh for permission?

But since they were made specifically for you I can also understand if you are not so keen on seeing everyone running around with your icons. :)
