Because a digital camera is a traveller's second best friend. All the other times I visited Los Angeles, I didn't have one.
So, let's start with one of my favourite places, Third Street in Santa Monica. Which is nifty because one can actually stroll there, and also because of the Dinosaurs.

Then there's a picture which sums up Los Angeles for me, the slight surreality of same if you're me, at least:

Today was spent with
iamsab, who lives in Hollywood. We headed off for brunch, and what should we come across but this sight:

Naturally, I had to squee "Heroes", and take pictures. Plural, because the sight of Giganto!Hiro & Ando was too good not to take a close up of:

After brunch,
iamsab showed me the farmer's market in the middle of Hollywood (did I mention I find Los Angeles surreal, in an endearing sort of way?):

And since we were there anyway, we had to pay homage to the Oscars:

And to Graumont's Chinese Theatre (I remember the first time I visited, as kid of 12; the Star Trek and Star Wars signatures in concrete were by far the first I looked for *g*):

We watched a movie, too, Stardust, which was charming. Perhaps more later.

I feel like I've seen that scene in about a dozen different movies/TV shows. It does kind of sum up LA.
