Every time I watch a season of Lost, I seek out fanfic, but this time, I succeeded in finding something I liked. (The previous times I got frustrated, not because of quality issues, but let's just say if you have zero interest in any pairings involving Sawyer (or Jack, or Kate), or Charlie, you had a problem finding fanfic, full stop. Actually, finding non-'shippy fanfic in any fandom is not that easy, I know, but in Lost I really don't 'ship anyone with anyone.) (Aside from Sun/Jin and Locke/Island, and I'm not averse to that twisted threesome, Locke/Island/Ben, either.) All from the same author, whom I first noticed because she wrote a superb Heroes/Lost crossover (you'll find it on the list). All gen and ensemble-using.

Guishin: Lost has no shortage of dead characters. This is a wonderful homage to them, creepy and touching at the same time, and with the black humour which is also typical for the show in some places.

The Children's Table: set during season 2 but with spoilers for season 3, this is an Alex pov of Walt's time with the Others. Superb depiction of the Others, the Alex-Ben relationship in particular, and Walt's way of trying to deal is just - go read it!

The Necessity of Always Wearing your Parachute (even when you can fly): the Lost/Heroes crossover, with spoilers for the s3 finale of Lost and the s2 premiere of Heroes. To put it as unspoilery as possible, two bearded characters meet, and it's anything but a crack fic. I'm still in awe of this one.

And speaking of Heroes, a new fanfic (from a different writer), also spoilery for the s2 opener: Letters from the Desert.

Wow. I just want say thank you for the recommendation. It’s very kind of you. Also, I love your idea of Lost's ultimate pairing being Locke/Island. How very true.

It's the pairing whose dynamic drives all the best storylines.*g* And your stories are so great that I was more than happy to recommend them!
