Aug. 31st, 2008 07:42 amA couple of fanfic recs to brighten your Sunday with. They certainly brightened mine!
Home Again: in which Jo (and Cliff) meet Ian and Barbara after coming back from the Amazon. Companions meeting is always a pleasure to read if well written, and the Jo point of view is to die for.
Pizzas and Planets: post-Journey's End story in which the Doctor pays Cardiff and Torchwood a visit. Completely bucking the trend since its focus is not on Jack and/or Martha reacting to the news about Donna and Rose (though they do that) but on the Doctor reacting to some of the more questionable Torchwood policies. And doing something about it. It's a great "wish that was an episode" ensemble story, everyone is written with great affection, and I loved reading it.
One of these mornings: this, on the other hand, is a post-Journey's End story focusing on Donna. And also including Martha, but at the core are Donna and the Doctor, and their interaction reminds me yet again why I love them together so much.
The Lost Girls: set post The Doctor's Daughter, a quiet conversation between Donna and the Doctor, with a backstory for Donna that as written here I found entirely plausible. Very touching.
