It's so nice to wake up and to find oneself recced. And for three different things by three different people, no less. *enjoys moment of authorial vanity before preparing breakfeast*

Well, not to pander to your authorial vanity but you were recced here as well. Yesterday was obviously International Rec [livejournal.com profile] selenak Day and nobody told you *g*.

Seriously, congratulations. All recs very well deserved.

Aw, shucks. And for that particular story, which I always regard as a big writerly step. *is more than pleased* Though it amuses me that I remember it as "the darkest thing I ever wrote in HL and up to then anywhere" (with a subtitle "if those flashbacks still don't make you understand why Cassandra hates Methos, how about this?") and it's recced as making the readers understand what Bronze Age Methos saw in Cassandra...

Yes, I did go "huh" at that as it wasn't quite how I remembered that particular story :)

Congratulations!

Meanwhile, have a review of Hamlet's return (http://www.guardian.co.uk/stage/2009/jan/08/theatre).

Thank you! I've heard he was back (and with Ian McKellen in the audience, no less), but hadn't read an actual review.

And, in other rec-related news, I spent last night blaming you for the fact that I watched Classic Doctor Who on ancient VHS tapes for four hours. "Curse of Fennric" was awesome and the end was exactly as you promised. "Time and The Rani" was unintentionally hilarious -- oh, FASHION. AND I downloaded all the Seventh Doctor audioplays from Big Finish. I think those first, then all the Eighth Doctor, then all the Sixth.

"Unintentionally hilarious" is the kindest way to describe that episode (I swear the Rani is awesome in her other story!). I'm really glad Curse of Fenric had the same impact on you as it did on me - any chance for a review? (I love reading reviews of episodes or films I treasure.) Before watching it, I had seen some Fourth Doctor eps, one Sixth Doctor story and the tv movie, about which the less said the better. (This was yeeeeeaaaars before the New Who relaunch - I feel old.) All of which had tin varying degrees entertained me but hadn't made me into a fan. Curse of Fenric was what did.

I should watch it again before attempting a review.

And, oh, the Rani episode. Giant, umm, bear-bat-things? Really? Really>? That was hilarious.
