Aka: I finally managed to upload Dad's photos as well. My Aged Parent, as opposed to myself (who has your typical small camera that fits in a pocket), was working with one of those paparazzi telelense cameras, and the results were absolutely amazing. Believe me when I say I only picked the best of the best, but the results still were two more pic spams. So, prepare yourselves for fantastically detailed and close views on cheetahs, lions and leopards, the likes of which you've never seen before, with some zebras and giraffes thrown in for good measure.

That's an elan antelope. So shy you can only see it via binoculars because you'll never ever get closer. Hopelessly to photograph with a normal camera. Also really big.

Photobucket

Remember those giraffes from my own photos? Well, here's how Dad saw them:

And now for the leopard. Guys, I was there and these photos still knocked me out when they wandered from Dad's camera to my computer. I shall just render them without further comment:

Yes, this, to use a current internet term. Also, the lions are in part IV.

Since this leopard is female, I have decided to call it Cleopatra, in honour of your icon. :)

Incidentally, as I know you're waiting, I'll try to get my BSG review done this weekend. Short version: did watch, did mostly like, beamed about the same thing you must have beamed about.

Yep, that's my Happiness, when she was young. I've got two more where she came from, too. There all a lot smaller than these kitties, though. :)

Wow. I thought the first photos were amazing, but wow. And that first one is so gorgeous, too. And the giraffes. They're all impressive!

Wow! Love the animals, even if they are all clearly thinking, "Damned tourists!" That leopard--gorgeous, gorgeous photos. Your dad's a good photographer. Can't believe he caught it eating!

Our guide didn't believe it, either, and said he hadn't been able to watch a leopard eating for cameras to see for thirty years. We were very lucky.

The leopard in the tree shots are especially fabulous -- thank you & your father for sharing them.

Our guide said that never in the last 30 years did he get such a good view of a leopard, and eating, too. We were very lucky. And Dad is fabulous with a camera.

I have to go with the majority here ... Wow! The close-ups of "lunch" I could have done without, but otherwise amazing pictures.

The second to last one? How is that comfortable? It also reminds me of my own kitties. They have had some interesting perches too.

Thanks for sharing!

Second to last one: I was wondering the same thing when watching the leopard at the time. The feline mind, it is mysterious.

Wow! Colour me stunned. Has your dad thought of taking up wildlife photography as a career! He's really caught the sinuous grace and total danger of that leopard.

Is it peculiar of me that I'm fixated on the leopard's paw pads? Beautiful, deadly, wild creature, and I'm thinking, "Look at those toeses!"

He's a she - so the guide said, and clearly really skilled in the way of muscles and dragging.*g*
