Tanzania, Part IV
Mar. 27th, 2009 05:11 pmI forgot to add: if anyone wants to use the photos for icons, feel free. Okay, in this last part showcasing the skills of lots of telelenses let loose on African animals, prepare for an overdose of lion cub cuteness and cheetah adorability. In close up.
But first some zebra action. Dad's camera being able to capture some horseplay, literally, we got this:

And remember those cheetahs lying around with full bellies and feeling smug from my earlier pic spam? Well, judge their star quality now:

...if you're wondering, according to our guide these guys are brothers. Undoubtedly, they're Italian. Also true felines, for:

Can it get any cuter? Of course it can. Other than the pride of lions featured in an earlier post and going to be featured some more below, we also encountered a lioness and her less than a week old young, but she was hidden in a cave made out of trees, and only Dad's telelenses penetrated to see this:

Whereas the pride of lions with somewhat older cubs was walking and jumping about. I like my photos of them, too, but these are... well, judge for yourselves:

Angela Petrelli and son?

Definitely Angela Petrelli. Or Livia.

And now for the big finish: we solemnly swear we're up to no good!

Date: 2009-03-27 05:15 pm (UTC)The lions are gorgeous. The little week old nursey lions -- ohhhhh! With their stripey tails!
That one of the cub with a rock in her mouth and mom holding on to her tail looks like me and the Small One waiting for the school bus -- her hauling rocks out of people's yards and me hanging on to her coat hood!

Date: 2009-03-28 05:02 am (UTC)Angela Petrelli and son?
Peter or Nathan? I'm inclined to say Peter, but then I have a one-track mind.
One other quick Heroes comment, if you're ever inclined to check it out again, I highly recommend "Cold Snap" or the Sprint Clip for "Into Asylum". There's no Sylar in either one. The clip is just Angela and Peter.
Back to the pictures, those are quite adorable!
Thanks again for sharing. :)

Date: 2009-03-28 01:56 pm (UTC)And again I am obsessed with paw pads. I also love the clear view of the cheetah's claws. They are obviously many times larger than a housecat's but they are in the same proportion as a housecat's. When my guy cleans his paws, that's exactly what it looks like...just twenty or thirty times smaller.
