Fannish5: Five Characters To Be Fired

selenakFannish5: Name 5 characters who should be fired from their jobs.
1.) Jocasta Nu (Star Wars prequels). Seriously, a librarian who says something like "if it's not in our index, it doesn't exist" should be fired; a true librarian would be curious as hell and determined to track down that elusive system.
2.) Erik Foreman (House). For firing Thirteen due to their personal relationship, which so counts as sexual harassment and/or discrimination. That Thirteen is back on the team isn't due to him. Of course, he's not the only guy at this particular hospital who should be sacked, which brings me to...
3). Gregory House (House). Yes, he's brilliant, but he's also a walking invitation to a lawsuit, and the fact the show only played the lawsuit subplot twice in six years shows you how unrealistic it is. Also, evidentally the hospital was able to function and save lives while House was in rehab, so really: sacking him would be the most sensible thing for Cuddy to do.
4.) Severus Snape(Harry Potter). Great, complex character. One of my favourites of the books. Still a lousy, lousy teacher, and I don't mean just regarding Harry. (Here, we have the fun irony that Snape actually unintentionally managed to teach Harry pretty well via his old notes in Half Blood Prince and Harry admired the hell out of Snape when he didn't know it was Snape. Whereas his occlumency lessons were a mutual catastrophe.) Any teacher who scares the living hell out of a sweet guy like Neville Longbottom and makes crass jokes about a female student's teeth (Hermione in Goblet of Fire) really has no business teaching. Snape dislikes children. Children dislike Snape. Yes, Dumbledore wanted to keep him nearby for backstory reasons, but surely, some kind of potion research university job with living quarters in Hogwarts would have done the job and spared both countless students and Snape?
5.) Rupert Giles (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Not as a Watcher, as a librarian. Look, I love Giles, but clearly that school library was hardly ever used for the purpose it was supposed to be and for which Giles got paid. Do you remember how poor Jonathan was received when he interrupted a Scoobie gathering because he actually was looking for a book? Sorry, Giles. Snyder should have sacked you. I know he tried in vain, but he should have done so again.
