Angel spoiler report: am still free. Am also batting virtual eyelashes at [livejournal.com profile] cavendish, [livejournal.com profile] bimo and [livejournal.com profile] estepheia. How is the download situation, guys?

Sqeeworthy thought of the day: as [livejournal.com profile] leyenn reported, JMS did a commentary for The Fall of Centauri Prime for season 5 of Babylon 5. He also did one for Sleeping in Light, but that was to be expected - it is after all the finale of both season and show. You know, it occurs to me that here we have yet another echo of LotR, in addition to names like Z'ha'dum and Lorien and the obviou Vir/Sam parallels: Tolkien took his leisurely time to say goodbye to all the characters after the big emotional climax on Mount Doom. The Fall of Centauri Prime is the Mount Doom of B5, with the subsequent episodes as character after character bows out being the equivalent of the last third of RotK. Sleeping in Light is of course the parallel to the Grey Havens. [livejournal.com profile] hobsonphile, how about a Vir icon which says "Well, I'm back"? And a Londo/G'Kar one from The Fall of Centauri Prime saying "I'm glad you're with me, here at the end of things"?

Meanwhile on the fanfic front: if it's not one space station, it's the other, true, and sometimes it's both. While [livejournal.com profile] londo_mollari has a go at human comedy and sports, [livejournal.com profile] celestial_templ posted its new challenge. Which demanded the exploration of a character one dislikes or usually wouldn't write. Well, first I thought: But I like the entire bunch of regulars and recurring guest stars. Then I had a vision. People in the shape of my lj friends appeared to me and told me: Come one, you've complained and bitched about the Prophets often enough in your reviews. Go forth and write a Prophet.

Which I did...

Oh, I love your The Fall of Centauri Prime idea... I shall go forth and make the icon when I get home from work tonight. And, perhaps, there shall be some Vir icons with Sam references as well, because now you've got me thinking. Damn you. *g*

After all, you made me write porn for incorporeal lifeforms with your challenge. If I ever write Shadow/Vorlon sex, I know whom to blame.

Shadow/Vorlon sex!

...but you will get a teaser:

It is said none of the younger races can ever truly see a Vorlon. If you look at a Vorlon, you see what they want you to worship, or what they want you to fear. This is true for all the younger races.

But nobody has ever asked what the Shadows see...
...

More! *g*

Seriously, that is an interesting question: What do the Shadows see?

I have downloaded the file via bittorrent and burnt it on CD, but the file was a bit faulty. We watched the epi, but I decided to try and get a better version.
There are a few dropouts at the beginning, nothing really serious, so if you're in a great rush I can send it soon. Or maybe you can wait for few more days, and I will try to get hold of the SVCD file.
Let me know.

No great rush.

But it just occurs to me my recent software troubles left me with some viewing programms disabled. I just hope it won't be those...

I'm currently downloading two different versions from e-mule; one being an avi file and the other an mpg. Both downloads are coming fast and steady (at least for e-mule standards) and should be completed by tomorrow afternoon, so I could send you the better version on Monday.

Yours, successfully bribed *g*

I'd be grateful for both versions, just to be sure, since the software disaster left me with some viewing programs disabled.

Good to know the bribe arrived and worked.*g*

H there!

I wanted to get bribed also, but I began downloading only some minutes ago, so I guess, bimo will be faster ;-). This morning, I still could not find the file on e-mule :-((.

Bimo: I wonder if the avi is a work-print again, it was fun seeing an episode without special effects ;-))

Go forth and write a Prophet.

Great idea and deeply creepy.

Sorry to hear about the software problems. It sounds like me last summer when two computers tried to die on me. I'll have the episode in 8 weeks time!
