Sarah Jane was as fond of her dentists as one could be of people who did unpleasant things to one's mouth once a year in the line of duty. They were a husband-and-wife team, a thoroughly normal, charming couple, so when they suddenly took it into their heads to emigrate to Australia after displaying complete amnesia on the subject of ever having had a daughter after they previously could not praise the girl enough, Sarah Jane was more than motivated to investigate.

In the end, her investigations didn't lead her to aliens but a bushy-haired, thin young girl with an expression of grim resolve and a stick in her hand.

"Look, you just don't understand. It'll be for your own good."

"I could help you," Sarah Jane began. Not that she had any experience dealing with teenagers*, other than having been one herself, but given the behaviour of the girls' parents, something far stronger and more sinister than disagreement on drugs, fashion or music had to be involved. "No matter what you think you're dealing with, trust me, I've sen worse."

The girl lowered the small stick she was holding.

"You have?"

"Once you've dealt with genocidal pepperpots and bodysnatching aliens..."

"Oh God," the girl muttered, "another Luna. I should have known." She pointed her stick at Sarah Jane and muttered something. The next day, Sarah Jane woke up with no memories of ever having had Mr. and Mrs. Granger as her dentists. Deep down, however, a part of her subconscious remembered never to underestimate teenage girls.

*And you, oh faithfull reader, must remember that the HP books take place yeas before The Sarah Jane Adventures start.

"Trust me," said Morgaine, "waiting years and years and years to bed the one who got away just to have him tell you you remind him too much of his mother just isn't worth it."

Alicia was suddenly glad never to have met Will's mother.

"There is something else I would like to ask you," she said to the woman, because if you could not confide into someone who basically looked like your younger self, whom could you confide in? (Not, it seemed, your best friend. Unsuccessfully, she tried not to think of Kalinda for longer than five minutes.) "When you discovered you were lied to and betrayed, you left at once. Did you evere regret it?"

Morgaine sighed. "Yes," she said. "What Viviane had done was horrible, but not a day passed when I did not miss her, and as it turned out, my departure made everything worse, for everyone, including myself, but especially for my son."

"So you think you should have forgiven her?"

"I should have stayed," Morgaine replied. "Forgiveness is another question entirely. Do you only allow yourself to feel affection for those whom you can forgive?"

Alicia remained silent.

"I'm a what?"

"A Slayer," Xander repeated patiently. It had taken Willow some time to locate this particular activated Potential, but she was sure now, and because meetings in Britain always left him with the longing for a decently hot climate, he had volunteered for the trip to Florida. "The short version is that you get to stake the bad guys and have superpowers now."

He was about to specify that "bad guys" was referring to the undead, but unfortunately the hot brunette cop who reminded him a bit of Faith if Faith had gone through a really harsh diet didn't let him finish. Instead, she slammed him against the wall.

"I'm not a fucking vigilante or a fucking serial killer, asshole!"

One of these days, Xander thought, one of these days he would figure out how to talk to women.

"And when I found out who was responsible for putting corsets back in fashion, I tracked her down and ripped her spine out," Darla said. "There we were, enjoying loose muselin dresses after centuries of whalebones, and then..."

"One of the perks of ruling the universe," Servalan commented, "is being a trendsetter in fashion, so I never had that problem. Well. Except for shoes. I never could get rid of high heels, but then, I must admit Avon looked quite good in them now and then, so I wasn't that motivated."

Dark-haired, full of entitlement, discontent with her life, self destructive and brimming over with father issues, the girl was clearly Darla's type. One didn't even have to lead her into an alley; she volunteered to be sired on the spot. It resulted in the most amusing slaughter, the girl killing everyone in the castle except for two of the servants and her brother, and this was not due to lack of restraint on her part but to the fact the male servant used a spell to transport himself, the maid and the prince away when he saw the situation was hopeless.

"I'm free," Morgana said numbly, standing beside Uther's corpse. "Free at last."

One could almost feel sorry for her, if it weren't for the fact she would be ever so entertaining in the centuries to come. Darla raised an eyebrow.

"Do you think so?"

"Of course!" Morgana exclaimed defiantly.

"Your defeat over him lasted but a moment," Darla said, looking at the dead king. "His over you will last a lifetime. You won't ever be rid of him now, you know. What we were informs everything we become."

Morgana pressed her lips together.

"You're wrong," she declared, but a horrified note of uncertainty crept into her voice. Darla patted her on the cheek.

"Darling girl. So young. So very young."
