Now I never liked smushed pairing names, from Spuffy onwards, and you'd think I'd have developed a thick skin by now, but they still manage to catch me my unpleasant surprise. This morning I spotted the horror that is "Cherik" for the first time.

I think Babylon 5 is probably the only one of my fandoms immune to the habit (so far, knock on wood). Not only were we spared "Lo'kar" or "Gondo", but even the big fandom ships like John/Delenn, Talia/Susan or Marcus/Ivanova were not given cutesy nicknames. Phew.
