Two women centric show reviews for the price of one, and I'll try to get that Sanctuary season 2 post done today or tomorrow as well. :)

Seriously, the only thing keeping me from wishing the current set up would continue forever and ever is poor tormented Walter who hasn't had it that bad on the show since they got him out of the mental hospital. (Also: Peter, wherever you are, do you really think contacting the one person in your life whose sanity is suspect to him as well as to others is a good idea? What about haunting Astrid instead? She'd be perfect. Calm, rational, and she'd immediately deduce she's not seeing things but there must be something up.) Otherwise, Fringe, season 4, continues to make me exceedingly happy. The two Olivias being snarky and warily respectful with each other for an entire episode was supported in awesomeness by two Lincolns appearing in the same ep (albeit not with each other). Am v. amused Over Here Lincoln is now the new Astrid in terms of Walter giving nicknames, and Kennedy is perfect. (Will he call him Garfield next? Also is Walter a Stephen Sondheim fan, and can we expect him listening to Assassins at some point?) And Over There Lincoln, whom I was already fond of, continues to be great at his Olivia's side. Though as I suspected, without the Peter-caused pregnancy she's still with her boyfriend and she and Lincoln are still bffs. We even get an explanation of why AltCharlie isn't around, and hey, good for him that he gets to vacation with the Bug Lady. Otoh I'm not sure why Peter's non-existence should mean AltBroyles is still alive, but I'm happy he is.

Over Here Olivia telling Over There Olivia about the stepfather reminded me of this particular implicaton of AltLivia's mother still being alive; this, not only the Cortizon experiments, formed the Olivias differently. The case of the week with the serial killer/profiler alter egos is of course a more radical version of how childhood abuse and/or being exposed to emotional support and kindness can make a difference, but that bit about memory transfer looks like foreshadowing to me. Otoh in season 3 we already had such a case in reverse: "Our" Olivia was given the memories of Altlivia and for a while became her, believing the memories to be her own, and yet they still acted differently at times. Do memories form what we are? is a good question this season with everyone's lives altered sometimes in big and sometimes in tiny ways.

Case of the week: unless I'm mistaken, it was inspired by the charges dodging Reinhold Messner for eons, though everyone had to be British because we have different libel laws in Austria and Germany. Also because the writers wanted to include some American court demeanor vs British court demeanor jokes.

More importantly: Diane figures out what's been going on with the Floricks and presumably also on the Will/Alicia front, leading to the tag scene where we're invited to speculate whether or not Will means his agreement. I'm more interested in whether or not Diane would fire Alicia if she thinks Alicia is damaging the firm by her presence. Currently I'm going with mostly yes unless she sees Alicia being targeted as something that incites her feminist ire.

The other question is whether or not Peter would have/still would damage Lockhart & Gardner out of divorce pettiness. I like that so far they continue not making him into Childs Version II; the on screen interaction with his children was also very welcome (especially since last season, presumably due to actor availability, it was all reported by Jackie instead of being shown), and of course the fact that when Zach point blank asks him about why Alicia kicked him out Peter did not try to shift the blame on her (by bringing up Alicia's involvement with Will) or tried to prettify it with "it was a very long time ago...", but squarely said he had hurt Alicia (with something other than the prostitutes). (Mind you, imo the Alicia-Peter separation was not due solely to the discovery of Peter's one night stand with Kalinda back in the day; Alicia had been falling out of love while Peter was falling back into it all through the season. But it still would have been weasely to bring this up towards Zach.)

Alicia saying she dislikes change to her British colleague: true, she doesn't, but when she is willing to go through with it, she's radical about not looking back.

Eli and Kalinda: had entertaining scenes together, while I kept trying to remember whether they really had never shared the screen before. It's a neat touch of realism that Eli doesn't mind working for a Republican.

I had exactly the same thought. I vote for Peter haunting Nina Sharp, she has an entire team of scientists at her disposal to figure out what is going on and it would give her some dearly needed screentime.
