In which Veronica is back, and it seems so is either the Mayor of Gotham or Richard post-Lost. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Sheriff Romero.

Okay, enough with the Nestor C. jokes - that was him, though, wasn't it? Alicia's potential one night stand that wasn't? I mostly enjoyed the episode, which offered some great scenes with Alicia and her mother, and with Diane and Kalinda versus Louis Canning & David Lee, plus Diane being ethical, all of which I like. But. You know what I'm going to say if you know me. There was, yet again, a Will glorification line, and this time they made Diane herself say it. Say excitedly, like a school girl, to Kalinda "I believe I'm channeling Will".

ARGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH.

There are not enough emoticons in the world. Seriously. I thought my ill will against Mr. Gardner was, pardoned the pun, buried with him, but this postumous deification at the expense of my favourite female character on the show makes me hate dead Will with a fervor I last felt against living Bill Adama. Stop. STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT.

At least there was a belated rational explanaton for David Lee doing it, i.e. he's trying to gaslight Diane and psych her out as part of a scheme, but that still made me want to throw up when Diane and Kalinda had that little exchange among themselves. Which is a scheme, because otherwise I would have loved that plot, complete with both thing about Louis Canning being true - he really is dying and he really is trying to pull a fast one on Diane. Louis Canning would use even his impending death for a business advantage, just as he's always used his condition in court. He's just wired that way.

Finn Polmar showing he does have an inner politician by not reacting insulted when the reporter asks him about his dead-by-drugs sister and instead replying in a manner to his advantage makes me wonder whether the show, instead of presenting him as the new Will (which they haven't, personality wise, thank God, so far) in terms of a potential future love interest for Alicia, will present him as a younger, more innocent version of Peter (thereby making an ironic point, especially if his wife doesn't conveniently die or want to get divorced but remains attached to him if and when he and Alicia should get shippery).

In conclusion: please, please, PLEASE, show. Give me one single episode without any character comparing Diane to Will or implying that being-like-Will is a good thing. In fact, can we get an episode without any Will mentioning whatsoever? And if you really want to make it up to me, can we please have a character remember the reality before Will's death where Diane was famous as an übercompetent, elegant ruthless shark in her own right and Will was the guy who got disbarred for six months and only remained a partner at L & G because she was loyal to him?

If Diane herself is made to say something about channelling her inner Will ever again, I'll start to throw darts at the tv screen, I swear.
