There must be bunnies!
Apr. 10th, 2020 01:55 pmDue to the Corona virus, there are no Easter Wells this year in Franconia. Rather than abandon my annual Easter Wells pic spam, though, I decided on a „Best of“ selection through the years. After all, you might have missed a few through the years.
Courtesy of the ever changing date for Easter, we’ve had all kind of weather in Franconia Here are a few wintery Easter wells with freezing bunnies

Same well (Biberach), different year:

And in every year, it’s the details that make this tradition so lovely:

If you don’t have a well in your village, go for a bridge, like the citzens of Drosendorf:

Always one of the most splendid wells: Heiligenstadt.

In one year, I came just when there was also dancing.

Meanwhile, in Ebermannsstadt:

And on the road:

Back to Biberbach again. The ostrich eggs are incredible each year. Like this one:

But my heart belongs to the less famous wells, too. Like this one:

And then there’s one we haven’t visited two or so years, because it’s a big side tour, but:

How long ago was this? Well, look who was still Pope then:

(The guy next to him is still bishop, though.)
Occasionally, someone recalls that the bunny isn’t actually the animal used as a metaphor in the source text:

Possible uses of eager eggs: advertise your shop! (This one is from a butcher’s place.)

Back to entire wells.

But really, look at those details everywhere:

If you’re wondering where all those villages with Easter Wells are, here’s an overview of Franconian Switzerland:

And then there was the year of Luther (2017).

This kind of thing will never happen to Calvin, mark my word.
Next
, we had the year of fairy tales:

Good times.

Which will come again. There shall be bunnies!

A happy Easter to you and the APs!
