I really did not have the time to participate, but I was delighted that there was a Scott Summers ficathon, [livejournal.com profile] summers_fling. Here are some of my favourite results:

Movieverse:
Point and Counterpoint: Scott and Mystique talk while Xavier and Magneto play chess. Excellent characterisation of both, and fair arguments, too.

Comicverse:
My Hero Bares His Nerves: Scott and Emma, dealing with your every day school teacher problem and past issues. I love the way [livejournal.com profile] sionnain writes conversations between these two in general, as they capture the complexity of this particular relationship, and this is a good example. Also, Scott's way of using detention with Logan as a tool with students is of the win.*g*

Crossover... of sorts with Battlestar Galactica:
Hellfire: this one is a BSG story, with Kara Thrace, the future Starbuck as the central character, and yours truly, who likes Kara but isn't a particular fan, was still stunned and swept away by the sharp, sad beauty of it. The way the X-Men are used here is one of the most imaginative in fanfic I've ever come across.

It seems it's poetry month in English-speaking territories? I offer Resumé by Dorothy Parker:

Razors pain you;
Rivers are damp;
Acids stain you;
And drugs cause cramp.
Guns aren't lawful;
Nooses give;
Gas smells awful;
You might as well live.

[livejournal.com profile] summers_fling is made of some fantastic, awesome stuff! I had the honor of beta-reading "Point and Counterpoint" and I'm definitely pointing your rec out to her, she'll be thrilled! :) (It *is* awesome, isn't it?) :)

::squeak:: Thank you *so* much for the rec--I'm honored! (I'm not sure I've ever been recced before, so I'm all giddy!)

And I'm glad you enjoyed the characterization and the arguments. I worked hard to make them all believable.

Wee! Thank you!
