Happy Easter, with pictures
Apr. 7th, 2007 09:41 pmLike every year, the APs and self drove through Franconia, our home province, to look at the pretty Easter Wells, which are our local specialty. Here are some of this year's highlights:
This is actually the spring of the Wiesent, the river which runs through what we call "Franconian Switzerland". And that's my mother standing there.


The next ones are from the biggest and most splendid of the Easter Wells, in Bieberbach:



Eggs and greenery aren't all; of course the villages include hares, too:

Observe that they're painting easter eggs. Incidentally, the eggs are truly all hand-painted, sometimes by local school children, sometimes by more experienced local artists.
Moving on to Heiligenstadt:

As Anya would say, it must be bunnies:

This one always has eggs for sale, too, not decorative ones but boiled eggs, to eat. Which is what my father did; Mum and self just observed the pretty:
