Happy New Year!

selenakHappy New Year, everyone, somewhat belatedly, but I'm snowed in (with my family), so to speak. Which made for a gorgeous first day of the new year today, which made for photos to demonstrate just why Bavaria has some of the most gorgeous landscapes around, and not just because of the skiing possibilities. Which we didn't explore today, we went for long walks instead.
This is Bad Wiessee at the Tegernsee, where I am every now and then, and where the Aged Parents & self are right now:
The streets look like this:
The Tegernsee, which is one of our big Bavarian lakes, offers plenty of opportunities to walk at its shore:
Mum, self, Dad, Aunt Renate (Dad's sister):
We walked to an "Alm" (not a charity in German, the word basically means small farmhouse, though that's not really what these houses are today more often than not) to have a late lunch. This meant the forest instead of the lake:
The Schwaigeralm, place to nourish wandering visitors:
And finally, yours truly, wishing a happy new year:
