Easter Wells 2009
Apr. 12th, 2009 07:20 pmLike every year, we observed our family tradition during the Easter holidays and visited the Franconian villages, where wells during Easter time are decorated with mostly hand painted eggs and with plants. It looks very pretty indeed, and always inspires my Aged Parents to take pictures. So naturally, as in the last years, I want to share the prettiness.

And now for some details:

An Easter Well which took up the musical theme of its statue, a local minister who also composed songs:

Every year, though, the most magnificent well is the one at Bieberbach. From which are all the rest of the pictures. Next to the well is a rather adorable dispay of bunnies, which you get first:

Now, the well itself:

Till next year, bunnies!

Date: 2009-04-13 01:35 am (UTC)I rather missed Easter this year--it seems like in Japan, nobody save for the tiny minority of Christians even knows it exists. I got an Easter egg at church yesterday, I talked to my family via Skype for over an hour, and my sister's sending me some belated chocolate (Cadbury Creme Eggs!), but I really did miss Easter Sunday at home. But I'll probably be home next Easter.
