This just in: in the next season of The Sarah Jane Adventures, there will be a two parter in which Sarah Jane teams up with Jo Grant AND the Doctor. Written by one Russell T Davies.

JOOOOO! Mind you, the SJS & Jo prospect alone would be enough to make me happy. That the Doctor joins them is an additional bonus (a part of me is just the littlest bit sad it can't be Ten, not that I don't like Eleven, I do, I do, but it would mean more to the Old Who fanboy David T. to play this, and he can't just help radiate fannish adoration at former Companions whenever he's around them, so I can only imagine what he'd be like with Sarah Jane and Jo). As is RTD writing the tale. Say what you want about Our Rusty, he brings on the reintroduction of old school characters into the new 'verse like no one's business, and he's just so good with the quiet emotional moments between madcap adventures.
In conclusion, glorious companion team up for the win! JOOOOOOOO! Oh Miss Grant, Miss Grant, you snuck up on me and conquered my heart when everyone belittled you as a bad example of a companion, and now I shall see you again on my tv screen. With Sarah. And the kids. And the Doctor.
...incidentally, given the ongoing bitching about Amy Pond's miniskirts, I just hope Jo drags out her old boots and mini. Just because. I'm sure Katy Manning would still look smashing in them. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, Brigadier.
