Carnival in Venice, Part I
Feb. 17th, 2007 08:40 amBack, and rather exhausted, but loaded with enough photos to necessitate two posts in order not to break anyone's viewscreen. At the start of this week, my Aged Parent started to ask the type of "are you very busy...?" question which usually leads to an impromptu journey, so I had a clue, but the fact it worked out on short notice (i.e. that we got a room) was a pleasant surprise anyway. Mind you, it helps when you're living near the Alps so Venice is four hours by car away.
I love Venice; this was my fifth or so visit, second time during the Carnival, and I remain as enthralled as I was when seeing the city for the first time as a teenager.
( So, have a treat of Venice in its masked beauty )
